Ways which lead to worshipping God

New ways in which to reverence God:

*of worship - the glorification of God

*of respecting and appreciating God

What is worship?

Worship is honouring God

Worship is adoring God

Worship is paying homage to God

Worship is glowing for God

Worship is deifying God

Angels sang, „Glory to God in the highest“

Lucifer, the throne angel, denied God worship

God wants to re-establish this worship through us humans, which is what makes worship very important.

God wants to be worshipped in spirit and in truth

  • He wants to be worshipped in reality

  • He wants to be worshipped with conviction

  • He wants to be worshipped naturally

  • He wants to be worshipped believeably

  • He wants to be worshipped without flattery

  • He wants to be worshipped quite simply

  • He wants to be worshipped genuinely

  • He wants to be worshipped

  • He wants to be worshipped in purity

  • He wants to be worshipped in cognizance.

God wants to be worshipped in truth

  • He wants to be worshipped without doubt

  • He wants to be worshipped without exaggeration

Worshipping God in truth...

most people do not know what this means

  • what this costs

  • how it is done

    • God wants to be worshipped in humility

    • God wants to be worshipped naturally

God can be praised in many different ways

  • through prayers

  • through songs

  • through gifts and offerings

At this point, I would like to give practical tips as to worship. Some of them are not so popular.

  • Worshipping God in humility, on the knees

Some people only want fast results (answers to prayer). They think worship is like an automated machine, where one puts money in at the top, and pulls out the ware at the bottom

Worship is a spiritual battle.

Satan said to Jesus – fall down and worship me. Satan wanted to force Jesus to his knees.

Worship is bowing before God. Going on one's knees.

  • Falling before God is a mode of worship

  • bowing our knees before God is a form of worship

Christians have unlearned this.

Wir must first of all acknowledge the truth

God gives grace to the humble

Worship is not rising upwards, but rather, going downwards.

First of all, we must know how SATAN operates.

  • he works with pride

  • he works with haughtiness

  • he works with arrogance

  • he works with conceit

  • he works with hubris (when on has an exaggerated opinion of oneself.)

Whoever worships God does the exact opposite.

Furthermore, Satan works with lies

  • he uses exagerations

  • he uses half truths

  • he twists and distorts (the truth)

  • he uses

  • he promises great joy

  • or whatever else you, just so as to undermine your undivided trust in God.

Satan can sense us. He knows us....our tendencies etc.

Satan - he wants to induce us - to do something

  • in order to earn our salvation

  • in order to help God with answering our prayers.

Satan wants to play tricks on us, like he tried to do with Jesus

  • he suceeds most of the time

  • he succeeded with Eve

Satan is the enemy of every true believer, or

  • those who are born again

  • those who want their names written in the lamb's book of life

Satan does not want you to know

  • that you were saved by grace

  • that rthis took place without your contributing anything to the process

  • that God does not need your pious works at all

  • that your salvation was free

With Satan, you must always do something.

All satanic religions are performance religions, where righteousness is based on works.

You must always make sure of whom you are bowing to, because that determines the direction of the worship – God or Satan.

The jews said, we bow our knees only before God and no-one else (see the story of the three hebrew men in the fiery furnace)

Many worship demons (often ignorantly)

  • when they bow before problems

  • there on their knees fall

  • when they only always speak of (their) sickness

  • when they only always speak of (their) difficulties

  • when they only always speak of money

  • when they only always speak of their scarcities

  • when they only always speak of their fears

  • when they only always speak of the cares, the problems, the falling away, the anti-Christ etc.

Others worship men

  • when they hype these ones

  • when they rave about these ones

  • whenthey run after them, especially the (Super Evangelists)

God, however prefers obedience to sacrifice

God is worshipped through obedience.

God is worshipped

  • through personal devotion

  • through personal commitment

  • through personal insight/cognisance

    God is always worshipped personally

God is honoured in humility

  • the problem with Lucifer had been pride

  • it had to do with his self exaltation

  • it had to do with his image and self profile etc

The priests were responsible for bringing God worship in those days.

These were,

  • people completely focused on God

  • people dedicated to God

During worship, most important is

  • your will, not my will

  • your kingdom, not my kingdom

  • your glory, not my glory

  • your need, not my need

God wants to be praised in our dedication to Him. (See Romans 12)

Jesus called his disciples in His order

    • He called them in His service

    • He gave them their assignments

      God wants to be praised

    • through the fulfillment of our commission

    • through the fulfillment of our assignment

    • through the fulfilment of our purpose for which He created us.

God wants to be praised through our FOLLOWERSHIP (of Jesus)

Jesus said “follow me”

This calling is not only for the apostles. It is for every christian.

Every christian is chosen of God.

Every christian is called of God.

Every christian is sent of God.

The worship of God takes place, when we purposefully follow Jesus

when we follow the lamb's path

when we partake of the Godly nature

when we obey God's word

God is worshipped through our good works. The bible says “that men may see your good works and praise the father who is in heaven”

Our good works are instruments of praise to God.

Works (deeds) speak more, and louder than words.

Our good works praise God.

They direct men to God, and cause them to be thankful.

The people saw the works of Jesus, and praised God

Are we also doing what He did?

Are we living the way He did?

Are we thinking the way He did?

Are we living the way He did?

Digression: Satan in a restless spirit

he ensures permanent hectic, stress and unrest

he rushes one, drives and sets one under pressure

he is always in a hurry, knowing that he has very little time

All these things hinder, block and destroy worship.

Anything that has to do with restlessness is not of God

Anything that causes restlessness is not of God

Anything that causes confusion is not of God

God is a God of order

God wants to be worshipped in an orderly manner

when our liv es are in order

when our relationships are in order

when we live with people around us in peace and reconciliation

God can not be worshipped in unforgiveness, quarrel and dispute.

Neither in envy, jealousy and anger can He be worshipped.

One can of course try to worship Him in this condition, but such worship is not acceptable to God.

It is useless to worship God in such a tense atmosphere

All these prayers go to the devil.

God is a God of peace

He wants to be worshipped in a peaceful manner

God wants to be worshipped on the sabbath, when all work, every stress rests. The bible says there remains a rest for the people of God

God wants to be worshipped through our fruits.

“you have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you may go and bring forth fruits and that your fruits should remain. (John 15:16)

He called us to bear good fruits that remain.

We are the planting of God

God wants to be honoured by our results in life

Bearing good fruits that remain, that is a way of worshipping God. We may not come before God with empty hands. We have received forgiveness and a new life, for free, by grace. Fruits are however required of us, from our lives.

Fruits – that's a feedback on God's work on us

Fruits, they gladen God's heart

God enjoys the fruits.

Worship is honouring God always, and doing Him the honour.

God wants to be worshipped through our staying

true to him (faithfulness)

through our love to Him

Just as the father has loved me, so have I loved you. Continue in my love John 15:9

Worship is honouring God through our lives.

God is worshipped

when we fulfil our purpose

when we keep His commands

when our works honour God

when we come to completion

when we use our talents and are usurious with them

when we become that which God had purposed for us to become.

If you are a schrub, then be a good schrub

if a tree, then a good tree

if a donkey, then a good donkey

if a person, then a good person

if a housewife, then a good one

if a christian, then a good christian

God is worshipped through our BEING

Many wonder at their unproductive lives

why their lives produce so little result

why their lives have so little effect

why they accomplish so little

why they have so little success

why they are no blessing

I can tell you where the problem lies.

They are not consistent

they do not remain who they are

they are not doing what they ought to be doing, what they were called to do

A person who is constantly replanted, every now and then,

can never grow properly

can never reach his full potential (height as in the case of a plant)

can never attain true maturity

God is worshipped through our maturity

no one wants to have sour apples

a sour life does not honour God

bitter people do not honour God

they are no good showcases for God

God wants to be worshipped through our internal life

through our character

through our personality

through our temperament

through our behavior

The bible says we are readable letters – read by all men and the name of God is maligned because of you.

God is either honoured or maligned by reason of the change in our lives.
